PARSE invites you to a seminar with Shannon Jackson, founding director of the Arts Research Center (ARC) at the University of California, Berkeley. The seminar will be held in English.
Date: Thursday, May 18, 15.30 – 17.30.
Place: Glashuset, Chalmersgtan 4, Gothenburg, Sweden.
In collaboration with the Pew Center for Arts and Heritage, ARC has recently curated and produced IN TERMS OF PERFORMANCE, an online keywords anthology with contributions from artists, curators and theorists like Emily Roysdon, André Lepecki, and Judith Butler, which engages cross-disciplinary practices in arts and performance: http://intermsofperformance.site
Using the anthology as a point of departure, this seminar will address questions of social, political and aesthetic access and exclusion, as they are produced, rehearsed, and (re-)enacted in contemporary discursive practices as well as in the field of cultural production.
