Anna Fech
*born 1985, Alma-Ata Kasachstan Independent curator and PhD candidate at Zeppelin University Friedrichshafen (Germany) Anna Fech studied art history and economics at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen. In 2014, she graduated at Zurich University of the Arts in MAS CURATING with a focus on postcolonial discussion in exhibition practice related to post-soviet countries. From 2016 to 2021, she worked as curator for YARAT Contemporary Art Space (Azerbaijan). During this time, she was responsible for the international residency program and ARTIM PROJECT Space which is directed at young artists and intends to support and encourage emerging talent to grow. Furthermore, she co-curated the exhibitions Suns and Neons above Kazakhstan (2017), ZARAtustra – Babi Badalov (2019) and Fragile Frontiers – Visions on Iran’s in/visible borders (2019), Once again that garden be… (2018) in cooperation with Cittadellarte Fondazione Pistoletto. She was head of the research team for Azeri, Farsi and Russian poems for the work For, In your tongue, I can not fit by Shilpa Gupta presented at the 58th Venice Biennale (2019). Currently, she holds a position as researcher and PhD candidate within the FEINART Network program at Zeppelin University Friedrichshafen (Germany), investigating socially engaged art practice and digital network culture within the post-communist context.
