Beppe Caccia

Beppe Caccia, graduated in Philosophy (University of Padua), Ph.D. in European and Euro-American Political Studies (University of Turin), scholar in History of Political Thought. Active in Italian and European social movements, from occupied social centers to Genoa 2001 to Blockupy Frankfurt 2015 and NoG20 in Hamburg 2017.  From 1997 to 2014 city councillor and from 2001 to 2005 deputy mayor for Social affairs of Venice. Fellow (2016) of Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung in Berlin and advisor (2018) of Fondazione per l’Innovazione Urbana in Bologna. Since June 2018 among the promoters of MEDITERRANEA Saving Humans, an Italian civil society platform which manages a rescue ship (“Mare Jonio”) in Central Mediterranean sea.
