CAMP

CAMP / Center for Art on Migration Politics is a nonprofit exhibition space devoted to art that discusses questions of displacement, migration, asylum, and immigration. The center was founded in 2015 by the Danish curatorial collective Kuratorisk Aktion (Frederikke Hansen & Tone Olaf Nielsen) and is uniquely located in the heart of Trampoline House, an independent community center in Copenhagen that provides refugees and asylum seekers in Denmark with a place of support, community, and purpose. CAMP produces exhibitions, events, publications, and educational programs to create greater awareness of the life conditions of displaced and migrant persons and discuss the structural reasons for dislocation. Some of the most innovative and influential contemporary artists, thinkers, and activists, many of them with personal experiences of migration or forced displacement, have contributed to the center’s program. CAMP is a curatorial and artistic response to the political neglect of the international community in providing sustainable solutions for people fleeing war, persecution, climate change, or poverty.
