Eugenia Arria

Eugenia Arria (Maracay, 1993) is currently a PhD candidate in Spanish at Lund University, Sweden. She holds a BA in Humanities and Arts from the Carlos III University of Madrid, Spain, and a MA in Spanish and Latin-American Studies from the University of Bergen. She is currently working on her research project named“Towards a Theory of Architectural Violence: A Study on the Wounding Houses of Current Venezuelan Literature (2010- )”, where she intends to understand the intertwined relationships between architecture, matter, violence and subjectivation through literary texts. She is also interested in writing poems and short stories, and for several years she has been an active member of the Maracay’s Culture House poetry group in her home country, Venezuela. Whilst carrying out her doctoral project, she is also working on two books of poems: El jardín profundo andEcos de Bergen.
