Jane Tynan

Jane Tynan is Assistant Professor of Design History and Theory at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU) in the Netherlands. She sits on the editorial board of Journal of Design History and is a member of CLUE+ Research Institute for Culture, Cognition, History and Heritage at VU Amsterdam. Her research concerns interactions between the body and the designed environment, particularly as it relates to politics, security and conflict. She has authored books and articles on visual and material cultures of conflict, the militarizing of popular culture and various intersections of design and violence.
