Lindiwe Dovey

Lindiwe Dovey is a film scholar, curator, teacher, and filmmaker, and her work aims to combine film scholarship and film practice in mutually enlightening ways. She is Professor of Film and Screen Studies at SOAS University of London, where she has been based since 2007. From 2019-2024 she is the Principal Investigator of the ERC-funded project “African Screen Worlds: Decolonising Film and Screen Studies” (grant agreement no. 819236) – a project through which she and her team members are making films and audiovisual essays as well as editing books and writing articles.
