Rose Brander
Rose Brander is an artist and is the PARSE project co-ordinator.
Brander is interested in how we organize ourselves and each other. A member of the collective Afterworks (with Andreas Engman and Kjell Caminha) that, through hosting, food and discussion, aims to address normative historic structures and to rethink and reframe approaches to being together via specifically framed encounters, recent iterations Eating Venice: Lagoon Legumes, Ceremony and Heritage (2019) A Performative text and food event for the Research Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2019.
A member of the Feminist Pedagogies working group, (What is Feminist Pedagogy? 2016); was the beginnings of an attempt to collectively unpick feminist and queer pedagogies and how to enact these both inside and outside of institutional settings. This has now expanded into the project the Teaching to Transgress Toolbox (2019-22). An Erasumus +, no-credit collective research and study programme on critical pedagogy using artistic tools based on peer-learning and collective research.
