Lois Klassen
Lois Klassen is an artist, writer and researcher based in Vancouver, Canada. Known for long-term art projects that invite and engage participants in collective actions, Klassen’s events and publications address social and political concerns. Klassen has been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship at the University of Texas El Paso (Ruben Art Center and Center for Inter-American and Border Studies) to write about art and the mobility of women and children over highways in Canada and across North American borders. Her art project, Reading the Migration Library has been hosted by Agnes Etherington Art Centre, Sala-Manca, Santa Fe Art Institute, SITE Santa Fe, Anvil Centre, YACTAC, bruna press + archive, and SFU Writers Studio. Lois Klassen is also the research ethics coordinator at Emily Carr University of Art + Design.
