Gabriela Sá
Gabriela Sá is a Brazilian artist and researcher who holds a PhD in Visual Art from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). She works as a curator at the Photography Festival of Tiradentes, one of Brazil’s largest festivals dedicated to photography and related media. Sá has also acted as a Research and Editorial Assistant for Archivo Platform, an international photography and visual culture platform. In her artistic practice, Sá works with photography, moving images, texts, performances and installations, investigating possible intersections between memory and oblivion, history and fiction, the real and the imaginary. She has participated in collective exhibitions in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and the UK, and joined several artistic residencies. Working together with Brazilian visual artist Ícaro Moreno as a duo named .:grão, Sá has published the artist book Archeologies of the Imaginary (2021) and received acknowledgement through being granted the XVIII Funarte Marc Ferrez Photography Award.
